Message Boxes are the various boxes found on top of pages on the Cookie Run Wiki. Generally, these boxes are brief alerts as to certain contents of an article. These alerts can include ones about article completion status, game contents, or otherwise general notices about the status of a games service.
An example of a Message Box. Now functional in light and dark mode!
This page serves as a guide for all the Message Boxes found on the Cookie Run Wiki. With this, this page will fall into a lot of categories since every single Message Box will be here. Please refrain from creating your own Message Box. These are templates at the end of the day that users are supposed to use for articles.
Article Content
{{New}}
New is for, well, new content from the Cookie Run franchise games. This is primarily used for pages of recently released Cookies that still need time for data and image gathering.
{{WIP}}
WIP, the abbreviation of "Work In Progress", are for articles that still need further elaboration on the contents within it. Usually found on bigger pages such as the list for Cheer Squad bonuses due to the substantial amount of data.
{{Improve}}
Improve is the Cookie Run Wiki's notice of a clean-up page. This page is dusty. And has not seen any remote updating since its initial release. Formatting and otherwise outdated templates fester on the page you can find this Message Box on.
{{Outdated}}
Outdated, not to be confused with Improve, are for articles with outdated information. Usually, whenever a new season for Cookie Run: OvenBreak comes out, stats for the Cookies, Pets, and Treasures are altered and adjusted as a "balance patch". This causes information about these stats to become outdated. A fair amount of OvenBreak pages will have this notice temporarily.
{{Stub}}
Stub, not to be confused with Improve or Outdated, are for articles that are stubs. These articles are usually one to three sentences with little to no substance. It is best to either add the needed content, or to delete the pages entirely.
{{Spoiler}}
Spoiler is for content that has been recently released that would be considered a surprise to most players. This page will mainly be seen on story related content due to the nature of such content. Leaks do not count to this as leaks are not tolerated on the Cookie Run Wiki.
{{Upcoming}}
Upcoming is for content that is upcoming to its respective Cookie Run game. For example, an upcoming article lists all known and official information for the upcoming Dust Lint Cookie releasing a few days later. Leaks do not count to this as leaks are not tolerated on the Cookie Run Wiki.
Article Data
{{Quotes}}
Quotes, not to be confused with "Quote", are for articles that are missing in-game quotes spoken by characters. Quotes for example are the lines spoken by Cookies placed in the player's Lobby in Cookie Run: OvenBreak after you tap them.
{{Images}}
Images are for articles that are missing images within its gallery. Mainly sprite sheets of Cookies and their Costumes fall into the category of missing images.
{{NoImage}}
NoImage is the Images Message Box, but specifically for Info Boxes. Info Boxes are the colored boxes often seen on the right of a page. Due to the nature of Jelly Set's, those pages will often have a NoImage alert on the top.
{{Translated Name}}
Translated Name are for pages that are named after a nonofficial translation. Mainly seen in older content due to the nature of Kakao and LINE's differences.
{{Conjecture}}
Conjecture is for pages containing titles and information named after a nonofficial translation or otherwise assumed titles. Things such as Cookie Trials and some of the Halloween Party costumes do not have official names (beyond file names that are pure gibberish).
{{NameConjecture}}
Not to be confused for the name above, NameConjecture is for pages containing character names that are unofficial and professionally made up. While this may seem similar to the purpose of Conjecture, there's so many unnamed Cookies that this differentiation had to be made.
{{Archive}}
Archive is for pages pertaining to a terminated game or otherwise terminated game mechanics. Beyond structure, the contents of these pages are to be preserved and untouched as misinformation is near impossible to reverse.
{{Unreleased}}
Unreleased is for pages pertaining to unreleased content found in terminated games. For example, additional units planned for CookieWars can be found in the game files. However, due to the game shutting down before their release, these files remain as unreleased. Leaks do not count to this as leaks are not tolerated on the Cookie Run Wiki.
{{Kakaocontent}}
Kakaocontent is for pages pertaining to releases in Cookie Run for Kakao, where the Korean content is rewritten into English with some conjecture and translations. Please note that this differs from other conjecture relating message boxes, as this one mainly focuses on Cookie Run for Kakao content.
{{Cancelled}}
Cancelled is for pages pertaining to Cookie Run projects that have been cancelled during development. For example, the Cookie Run: The Animated Series project was cancelled during development, hence it uses this message box.
{{RoughTranslation}}
RoughTranslation is for pages with information originally written in a language other than English, translated roughly by either a machine or an inexperienced translator. Please note however that this differs from the other translation related message boxes, as it is exclusive to non-video game-related information. An example of this would be the translated Korean version of the Cookie Run Costume Contest's Rulings from the defunct Cookie Run Forums.
{{Missing sources}}
Missing sources is for pages whose information lacks reliable sources, where it instead comes from unofficial archives, writer interpretations, or now-unavailable sources. This inconsistency comes from Devsisters' documentation methods for Cookie Run, which is particularly noticeable when trying to find sources for old Cookie Run information.
Miscellaneous
{{Delete}}
If you disagree with its deletion, please contact a staff member of the Cookie Run Wiki, or improve the page and remove the
{{delete}} tag.Delete is for pages that are candidates for deletion. The contents on these pages are deemed not to the Wiki's standards or are otherwise floating vandalism/grief pages that have not been dealt with. Hopefully, users will next to never see this for more than a day.
{{Disambig}}
If an internal link led you here, please change the link directly to the intended article.
Disambig is for pages that are, well, disambiguation directories. This message box is slowly being phased out of important Cookie pages because they are just not needed. Truly, this wiki's worst nightmare.
{{Aprilfools}}
Aprilfools, tha bezt dae evur, is for pages that pertain to content regarding April Fools events. Content was made to be intentionally bad for this day, so any errors in spelling are to be kept as they are and not corrected.
{{LostMedia}}
LostMedia is for content that is deemed "lost media"- content that has been lost to time due to a lack of documentation. Information regarding lost media topics are scarce, so missing content is bound to be present on these pages.
{{OldEra}}
OldEra, the only Message Box used for user profiles, is for profile pages that have been locked to prevent vandalism and harassment. The ownership and handling of this wiki has been a deep and enriched history, however the staff at the Cookie Run Wiki do not condone any harassment and vandalism to the previous owners of this wiki. This behavior is unacceptable and we will react appropriately if a user is caught doing this.
